College Recruitment

NCAA Rules and Regulations

College athletics are governed by the National College Athletic Association (NCAA). Whether planning on attending a Division I, Division II, or Division III college, it is very important to understand the rules and regulations set by the NCAA.  The NCAA Web site contains vast information for the prospective college student-athlete pertaining to the recruiting process and the academic and eligibility requirements for players planning to play soccer at the collegiate level.

Prospective athletes must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. You can register with the Center anytime during your high school career, but it is recommended you do so at least during your sophomore year. There is information on the NCAA Eligibility Center site pertaining to the core courses required in order be cleared through the center. It is also important to ensure that your school has submitted updates to their core course offerings so you receive credit for the classes you are taking.

05/16/11 College Night Includes Rollin's Soccer Men's coach!

In 1991 a group of soccer enthusiasts recognized the need for a soccer program to showcase and enhance players opportunities to play in college. Since the formation of FC America that year, we have helped our players earn over $4,000,000 in first year scholarship dollars.

The foundation for our success has been two fold:

  1. Dedication and commitment to players by our coaching staff.
  2. The College EDGE program which guides players and parents in the college selection process.

The College EDGE program is an ongoing process during the high school years which includes club support and education for parents and players on the following:

  • Choosing the right college

  • The difference between Academic and Athletic Scholarships

  • Setting your goals

  • Year by Year - What you should be doing

  • Selecting the right soccer camp

  • Writing an effective resume

  • Getting the coaches' attention

  • Making a video coaches will watch

  • Questions to ask the coach on your visit

  • Dressing for success, the first impression

  • Working with your club and high school coaches to attain your goals

  • The difference between a Grant, Loan and Scholarship, and where to find extra dollars

FC America devotes significant time and resources towards ensuring all players are fully prepared for the college process and receive significant support throughout their application.

Showcase Opportunities.  All FC America players U16 to U18 will take part in the FPS College Showcase camp.  Players receive guest sessions from college coaches, attend seminars and participate in showcase matches in front of specially invited college coaches.  FC America also sends teams to a number of college showcase tournaments throughout the season including Disney, Las Vegas, PDA and CASL.

College profiles.  All FC America players at U16 to U18 players create an online profile on the FC America website which they can direct college coaches to.

Partnership with College Soccer Advantage (CSA).  FPS has a partnership with CSA that provides players access to CSA resources and discounts to CSA services including their online mentorship program.

MPS franchise network.  As the growth and reach of the FC America - FPS organization grows players interested in colleges in different areas of the country can tap into the FPS/MPS network of coaches and partners.
