Members of the FC America U-13 Boys Place 3rd at the Kick-It 3v3 World Championships at Disney

January 18, 2006... Over the weekend of January 14th -16th, 2006, six (6) members of the FCA U-13 boys team played outstanding 3v3 soccer to take 3rd place at the Kick-It 3v3 World Championships at Disney's Wide World of Sports.  Teams from across the country and international teams competed in this event.  All teams had to qualify for this event throughout 2005 at regional events held around the country.

The team called Fire won all of its pool games which included a win over the number one ranked team from Pittsburgh, PA, as well as teams from Illinois and Indiana to place 1st in their group. They entered the sudden death bracket play and won three straight games to get into the Group A final, which entailed  a win against the international team from Mexico. The Group A final was a great game, however, the boys came up a little short for their only loss of the tournament. Despite the loss, the team advanced to the Division playoffs. They went on to capture 3rd place with an exciting overtime victory against a team from New Jersey. Overall the boys won 7 out of 8 games scoring 44 goals and allowing 18.

Congratulations to Ethan Baiocco, Joey Battista, Zack Meyer, Brandon Riley, Phil Shafer and Keith Sheehan.
