FC America Omni U-18 Boys Win the Cocoa Expo Columbus Cup Tournament

October 15,  2008 ...  On October 11th-12th, 2008 the FC America Omni U-18 Boys won the 12th Annual Columbus Cup Tournament Held at the Cocoa Expo Sports Center.

The first game was against the Clay County Rangers and the Omni Boys won 4-1. The second game was against the Rockledge Steelers and the outcome was a shut out 3-0. Their third game on Sunday morning proved to be the most difficult because of the swamp like field conditions, and the boys came away with a 1-1 draw against the First Coast KYX.

This set up a rematch in the Championship game against the First Coast KYX, and the field conditions were ideal for this match. The boys overcome some obstacles by winning the Championship game, 5-1. The Omni Team scored 13 Goals and played outstanding defense along with solid goal keeping by only allowing 3 Goals in this Tournament.

Overall the Team has not lost a match in 16 games which includes GCF League games, and 3 Tournaments dating back to last Spring season.

Congratulations to Coaches: Jim Cofer, Drew Ducker, Mark Albright, and Team Members who have consistently contributed to our success.
