FC America's Omni U-15 Boys Win the Florida State League Division 1 Championship

April 10,  2010 ... The FC America Omni U-15 began their first year playing in the Florida State League in Division II. After successfully finishing league play in the fall as the D2 champions, they went on to secure a spot in the Division I playoffs during the relegation rounds.

Wins over Ponte Vedra and Bellview lead the Omni team into the playoffs, where they started with decisive wins over First Coast KYX and Florida Rush. The U-15's cruised into the finals against Jacksonville Fury outscoring their opponents 15-5 in relegation and playoff rounds. FCA went up against Jacksonville Fury in a tight and physical game. The late start and long drive to Jacksonville may have only helped steel their determination. After a quick goal in the first few minutes of the game to have Omni down 0-1, the team was able to refocus and even the scoreline (1-1) after a Nascimento free kick about 25 yards from goal. Fifteen minutes into the second half, FC America's pressure was too much for the Fury to handle, and a Jordan Ocampo strike brought the scoreline to 2-1. While The Fury would try to rally, Omni held on strong for their second trophy of the year as Florida State League Division I Champions.
