May 10, 2010 ... Florida Premier Soccer (FPS) and FC America
are delighted to announce a partnership to develop a School of
Excellence Program for players aged 5-10. Commencing in fall 2010, FPS
will bring the School of Excellence program to various locations
throughout Orlando including Trotters Park, the home of FC America.
Developed by sister organization Mass Premier Soccer (MPS,
www.masspremiersoccer.com), the SOE Program in Massachusetts currently has
over 1,000 players and has produced two US National Team Players in each
of the last two years. The SOE program is unique in terms of full-time
licensed professional coaches working with dedicated and talented
individuals who are looking for advanced training with similarly talented
peers.
The SOE curriculum is focused on developing technical players and is
continually updated by the Technical Department at MPS Headquarters in
Boston. FPS will look to identify and develop players with PACE –
Personality, Attitude, Creativity (Confidence for Goalkeepers) and
Excellence. The SOE program has been designed to supplement, as opposed
to replace programs offered by local club and recreational programs.
“We are delighted to associate the FPS brand with the highly regarded FC
America program as we launch the School of Excellence program in central
Florida,” said MPS General Manager Joe Bradley. “Both FPS and FC America
are synonymous with professionalism and quality and we look forward to
collaborating for the betterment of youth soccer in Orlando.”
“We were attracted to a partnership with FPS as we sought to enhance our
offerings to players aged 10 and under,” said FC America Directors of
Coaching George Sasvari and Jim Cofer. “The FPS School of Excellence
Program will complement the existing infrastructure at the club and
provide a source of quality players for our Premier Program,” said FC
America President Joe Battista.
MPS has successfully developed league products, showcase tournaments,
college placement programs and has won 13 national titles, nine at the
youth level and two PDL and two W-League titles. MPS also successfully
expanded to Maine in 2009 (www.mainepremiersoccer.com).
