FC America U10 Girls Reach Championship Game

August 28,  2009 ... The FC America U10 Girls FEAR played their first tournament over the weekend at the Central Brevard Hurricane Classic. After a busy weekend of playing some of the best U10 Girls teams in Central Florida, the FCA Girls made it all the way to the Championship game, before losing in penalty kicks to a strong Titusville LunaChicks team.

The girls played great all weekend scoring the most goals of any Girls team in the tournament, while giving up the fewest. They went undefeated on their way to the Final.

The Championship game was a great match against 2 of the best teams around. The score ended 1-1 after regulation, with both teams having lots of chances at goal. The game had to go into the second round of penalty kicks before the game was decided.

All of the girls showed great heart, skill and commitment to each other, but special thanks goes to Nikki and Gabby who played Keeper in the Final, both making key saves. Gabby stopped 3 penalty kicks in the shootout.
