U16 Girls progress to Final Four while U13 Boys, and Girls are washed out in Plantation
FC America had a successful weekend in the sweet sixteen and elite eight round of State Cup. The Orlando based soccer club claimed an amazing feat by qualifying all teams in action to the Elite Eight stage.
First the U13 Boys produced a fantastic performance against a strong Plant City Lancers team notching two late goals to claim a 3-0 win.
FC America U13 Premier Girls also made it through to the Elite Eight with a solid defensive display against Cooper City. A well taken goal just before half time was enough to claim a 1-0 victory.
Unfortunately, due to severe rain and tropical storms the Elite Eight games were rained out in Plantation, as both U13 teams bid for a place in the Final Four.
The games have been rescheduled for Saturday the 5th of May at the home fields of FYSA in Auburndale, FL.
The U13 Girls play at 11.00am on field 8, and the U13 Boys immediately after on the same field with KO at 1.00pm. Please go along and support your club.
The U17 Boys completed the list of FC America teams to progress through to the Elite Eight with a 6-0 defeat of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The #8 ranked team in the State qualified for a tough match up against Bellview United. After a late penalty FC America Premier went down 2-0 in a tough loss.
The U16 Girls were handed a tough draw to progress to the Final Four in Auburndale. The U16 FC America Premier Girls had to overcome a strong Weston team ranked #14 in Florida. After a brave performance ended with a 1-0 victory, the girls set their sights on Creeks Clash ranked #8. Having already lost twice to Creek’s this season, the FC America U16 Premier Girls team held on for a deserved 1-0 victory to set up a Final Four place. The U16 Premier girls have been in good recent form showing well in the Disney College Showcase and winning their bracket at CASL.
